Flaming Cili Padi

I think I had a generally good day.

Helped out in the kitchen team today; we had the No-cook Pasta and Pumpkin soup led by Kim, Fruit salad led by Derrick and ingredients provided by Madam Loke, Szechuan-style vegetable with two types of vege I got from Mr.Neo next door, and some cut watermelon and banana which I got from Khatib Central. We were expecting 10-12 people today but had 28-30 staying for lunch and so Kim and I thought we should get more things to top up. On hindsight, the watermelon wasn’t a good choice for me. I had to lug a fat watermelon (that cost me $15.. imagine how large that was) and some bananas, from the market to Bottle Tree Park. My usual 15 mins stroll became a horrendous walk. But it was all worth it. Today’s lunch was delicious!

Then I went over to Books & Beer to meet three other friends who agreed to help with an upcoming workshop (aiming for July), and we had Mel & Eileen of B&B ( they met while campaigning for climate action in Copenhagen during the 2009 UN Climate Conference as part of a 12-member youth delegation from Singapore)(I met them in 2011- they were the co-chairs for the youth conference which happened in July 2011), and Ibs (whom I first met at Green Drinks Singapore, together with Sofi of The Green Bush around early 2011) join in the discussion too to share their inputs. This month, things are moving as rapid than ever, faster and more productive than it ever was since August 2013, and I’m happy things are moving this fast.

I shared with Ezra some of the difficulties I have been facing since August, and he did say not to take things personally. Still, this goes to the people in a particular list in my head..

I may look calm but in my head I killed you three times.
